DENVER (KDVR) — An update for parents with pre-K-aged children, the Colorado Department of Early Childhood is extending the release of first-round matching until next month.That new date is now April 26.This additional time will help maximize the likelihood of families receiving their first or second choice and give families and providers more time to fully consider their capabilities and preferences. DENVER (KDVR) — A new plan from the Colorado Department of Transportation and Energy called for a drastic increase in the number of electric vehicles in Colorado in the not-too-far future.The Colorado Electric Vehicle Plan envisions 2 million electric cars and SUVs on Colorado roads by 2035. That’s just 12 years away.The plan also calls for 1,700 public fast-charging ports to be installed around the state. Almost 6,000 level-2 chargers would also be deployed. What is the difference between altitude and elevation? The charging grid has been one of the greatest challenges for current EV owners.The plan also envisions that 30% of all truck sales be electric by the year 2030. Some in the trucking industry said that number is not feasible.Currently, there are 70,000 electric vehicles registered in Colorado. That’s only 2% of all the vehicles in the state. Gov. Miami-Dade Police officers taped off a portion of Northwest 44th Street near Northwest 22nd Avenue to investigate after a man was shot, Wednesday morning.Reports of the incident came in around 6 a.m. and now police officers are investigating a house on the street. A car on the street with its lights on was also being investigated by authorities. Evidence markers were seen next to the vehicle which normally indicates some kind of shooting.Neighbors expressed concern to 7News and said the car belongs to an older man who lives in the house being investigated. They do not know if he is connected to this incident.
