Police search for armed suspect following vehicle crash and evacuation of building in Charlestown A large police presence could be seen in Charlestown Tuesday afternoon after what started as an attempted traffic stop turned into an hours-long search for an armed suspect.Authorities said it all started around 12:30 p.m. when police pulled over a green Dodge due to the driver having open warrants.The vehicle went on to crash on Terminal Street in Charlestown, careening into a guardrail.The suspect was then able to take off, leaving the vehicle behind. Police later found a firearm inside of it as authorities responded to the incident.With Massachusetts State Police, members of the Boston Police Department used SWAT crews, K9 and Harbor Patrol units to search the large premises at 200 Terminal Street that officials believe the suspect ran into.The building was evacuated as police fanned through the building, finding another firearm but no suspect.Boston police say the suspect remains at-large as of 4 p.m. and that an image of the individual will be released later to the public to as...

Scratch ticket rebound lifts lottery Sales at the Massachusetts Lottery were up more than 20% in February, due in large part to a sizable bump in sales of a key product that Lottery officials have been concerned about in the last year.The Lottery sold $513.3 million worth of its products last month, an increase of $88.5 million or 20.8% over February 2022. Scratch tickets accounted for about 71% of February sales, or $363.8 million, up $82.3 million or just more than 29%, according to a report by Interim Executive Director Mark William Bracken.The month’s sales combined with a $23.9 million decrease in scratch ticket grand prizes paid out during the month to help the Lottery turn a monthly profit of $94.3 million, $23.5 million more than in February 2022. Man sought for sexually assaulting woman in Toronto’s Annex neighbourhood Toronto police are searching for a man after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted when she exited a TTC bus in the city’s Annex neighbourhood last month.Investigators say that the incident happened in the early-morning hours on February 11, just before 4:30 a.m., in the Bathurst Street and Wells Street area.It’s alleged that the female victim, a 29-year-old woman, was travelling northbound on TTC bus route 307 from Bathurst Street and King Street West. A male suspect was on the same bus and would exit at the same stop as the woman.The man followed the woman on foot and sexually assaulted her. Police said the suspect left the area while possessing the woman’s cell phone, and the woman pursued the man.
