One dies in Aurora crash

DENVER (KDVR) -- Police in Aurora investigated a crash with serious injuries Saturday afternoon in the area of East Quincy Avenue and Parker Road.As a result of the crash, all northbound traffic on Parker Road at Quincy Avenue was closed as of 1:37 p.m., and expected to remain closed for several hours. All lanes were reopened shortly after 5 p.m. US 285 closed near Lowell Blvd. due to 5-vehicle crash According to the Aurora Police Department, multiple people were taken to hospitals with varying injuries, and one person died in the crash.Police said initial reports show that the sole occupant driving a BMW lost control while going south on Parker Rd., crossing the median and colliding with a Jeep in the northbound lane. (AP) — A man accused of abducting a woman in Seattle, driving her hundreds of miles to his home in Oregon and locking her in a makeshift cinder block cell is facing fresh charges of kidnapping and rape in a separate case involving alleged crimes two months earlier, court documents show.An indictment returned by a grand jury in southern Oregon’s Klamath County says that on or around May 6, Negasi Zuberi kidnapped a victim referred to as an unidentified Jane Doe in the county in order to rape her. The indictment also alleges that he knowingly injured the victim by using or threatening to use weapons including a handgun and a stun gun.Zuberi was indicted on 11 counts, including first-degree rape, sexual abuse and kidnapping. Police are searching for at least one suspect after someone was carjacked at knifepoint in North York on Saturday night. Police say a suspect confronted the victim in the area of Finch Avenue West and Sentinel Road just after 7:30 p.m. The victim was robbed of their car at knifepoint and sustained a stab wound in the process. CHICAGO — An investigation is underway after a shooting at a River North gas station on Saturday morning.According to police, it happened at the BP gas station in the 700 block of North Wells Street around 10:15 a.m.Officers say the victim, a 48-year-old man, was at the gas station when a grey sedan drove up and parked next to him.
